Scrap Mart buys scrap metal in Auckland and Christchurch with transparent pricing and grading, certified weighing and instant payment after inspection.

Scrap Mart is a scrap metal buyer, recycler and exporter serving tradies, businesses and households across Auckland and Christchurch. The business started in 2019, after taking over the established Warren Metals site in Onehunga.
Scrap Mart is led by Ash Sampath, who has worked in the recycling industry since 2011. That experience shapes how both yards operate: transparent pricing and grading, practical service, and payment once the load has been confirmed.

Our vision is simple. We want to be the scrap yard that tradies and businesses in Auckland and Christchurch recommend to each other, because the pricing and grading are transparent, the scales are certified and the payment is instant.
We also want more metal recovered and less sent to landfill. Every item that comes through our gates is sorted, graded and moved into a proper recycling stream, including the hazardous material that needs it most.

Scrap Mart buys unwanted scrap metal from electricians, plumbers, roofers, mechanics, builders, factories, workshops, demolition teams and households.
Aluminium, Batteries, Brass, Copper, Electric Motors, Fridge Motors, Industrial Air-Con Units, Lead, Mixed Metal, PVC Wire, Stainless Steel, Starter Motors and Alternator Motors, Steel, Zinc.

Lead-acid batteries can harm the environment when they are not recycled properly. Scrap Mart takes that seriously. We recycle lead-acid batteries through responsible, sustainable channels, and we hold international hazardous export permits issued by the Environmental Protection Authority of New Zealand, in line with the Basel Convention.
We buy Car Batteries, Truck Batteries, Industrial Forklift Batteries, Solar Batteries, Gel Batteries and AGM Batteries at both yards. Lithium Batteries and Alkaline Batteries are not accepted.

Scrap metal value depends on type, grade, weight, cleanliness and market movement. We keep the process straightforward, so you know what is happening before you get paid.
