Household ScrapSell accepted steel and iron at Scrap Mart's Auckland and Christchurch yards with certified weighing and instant payment after inspection.
Steel and iron are priced on grade, weight, size, cleanliness and attachments. Heavy Steel, Light Gauge Steel, Roofing Iron, Car Parts and Brake Rotors are graded differently, based on condition, contamination and how much handling they need.
Bring your steel in for an assessment on the spot. Contact the team first if the steel is oversized, sharp or difficult to unload.

The value of Steel and Iron depends on grade, cleanliness and any attached material. Review the common grades below before visiting the yard. Separating different grades can help the team assess your load more efficiently.
Scrap Mart does not target car bodies, car engines or machinery.
Brake Rotors Cast iron discs and drums.
Car Parts Loose steel vehicle components, free of fluids.
Heavy Steel Thick plate, beams, structural offcuts and heavy sections.
HMS Insize Heavy melting scrap within size limits.
HMS Oversize Heavy melting scrap needing cutting.
Light Gauge Steel Thin sheet, framing offcuts and general light steel.
Roofing Iron Corrugated roofing and cladding sheet.
Prices are subject to international market fluctuations and may change without notice. Prices listed here are indicative. The final price is confirmed at the time of delivery, based on grade, weight, size and cleanliness.
Before you visit, remove rubbish, gas bottles, oil, plastic and non-metal waste. Separate Roofing Iron, Brake Rotors and Car Parts from general steel where you can.

Most people are in and out within fifteen minutes. Here is the whole process, from the first price check to cash in hand, so you know what happens and in what order.
Check current steel prices, or send photos if you are not sure of the grade.
Drop your steel off at the yard, or ask the team about pickup availability for commercial volumes.

Once it is accepted, you are paid instantly before you leave.
How you sell steel and iron depends on how much of it you have and how often. All three paths use the same grading and the same certified scales. The difference is what we ask you to send us first.
