Household ScrapSell scrap copper at Scrap Mart's Auckland and Christchurch yards with transparent pricing and grading, certified weighing and instant payment after inspection.
Copper is a high-value scrap metal, but the grade decides what you get. Clean bare copper returns more than copper carrying paint, solder, insulation, brass fittings or steel clips. We check, weigh and grade your copper before payment, and we explain how we got there.
Bring your copper in for a free assessment on the spot. No appointment is needed, and most loads are weighed, graded and paid out within minutes.

The value of Copper depends on grade, cleanliness and any attached material. Review the common grades below before visiting the yard. Separating different grades can help the team assess your load more efficiently.
Copper Bright And Shiny Clean, bare, bright wire with no oxidation or coating.
Copper Domestic Household copper, cylinders, pipe and fittings.
Copper Mixed Metal Copper mixed with other metals, graded on recovery.
Copper No.1 Clean copper pipe and solid copper, free of solder and paint.
Copper No.2 Copper with solder, paint or light attachments.
Copper Pyro Mineral insulated copper cable.
Copper Radiators Copper and copper brass radiators and heater cores.
Copper scrap prices are subject to international market fluctuations and may change without notice. Prices listed here are indicative. The final price is confirmed at the time of delivery, based on scrap metal type, weight and cleanliness.
Before you visit, separate copper from brass, steel, aluminium and general scrap. Keep clean copper pipe away from PVC cable and automotive looms. Do not burn cable. Burnt material is downgraded.

Most people are in and out within fifteen minutes. Here is the whole process, from the first price check to cash in hand, so you know what happens and in what order.
Check current copper scrap prices, or send photos if you are not sure of the grade.
Drop your copper off at the yard, or ask the team about pickup availability for commercial volumes.

Once it is accepted, you are paid instantly before you leave.
How you sell copper depends on how much of it you have and how often. All three paths use the same grading and the same certified scales. The difference is what we ask you to send us first.
